Recap: Herington Railroaders vs. Northern Heights Wildcats
Even though the Herington Railroaders have not done well against the Northern Heights Wildcats recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Herington took down Northern Heights 56-38. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Herington.
Leslyn Kremeier continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with five assists and two steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Isabelle Ecklund, who scored 13 points.
Herington now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Northern Heights, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Herington will face off against Canton-Galva at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Trinity Espinoza and Kremeier. As for Northern Heights, they will be playing at home against Burlingame on Tuesday. Burlingame presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Northern Heights in Kansas (Burlingame is ranked 125th, while Northern Heights is ranked 316th).
