Soccer Game Preview: Captain Shreve vs. Byrd

The Captain Shreve Gators will take on the Byrd Yellow Jackets on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Captain Shreve is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They blew past Acadiana 7-1. The victory was nothing new for Captain Shreve as they're now sitting on four straight.

Meanwhile, Byrd kept a clean sheet against Destrehan on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 4-0 win. Given Byrd's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Destrehan are ranked 60th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Captain Shreve's record is now 21-6-1. As for Byrd, their record now sits at 15-5-3.

Captain Shreve couldn't quite get it done against Byrd in their previous meeting back in January as they fell 2-0. Can the Gators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
