Baseball Recap: Berwick Academy Victorious

While Berwick Academy's win against Gould Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the Huskies 4-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Tucker Demers made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Demers was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tyler Murray, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases. Those hits were his first of the season. Tucker Montecalvo was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Berwick Academy and bumps their season record up to 5-2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Gould Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Berwick Academy will host Brewster Academy National at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Gould Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Hebron Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
