Basketball Recap: Chris Bendaw's Big Game Can't Quite Lead North Mesquite over White

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact North Mesquite can now relate to. They took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the White Longhorns on Tuesday. If the Stallions were looking for revenge after losing 57-41 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

North Mesquite's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chris Bendaw, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Grigsby, who posted 11 points and five boards.

North Mesquite's defeat dropped their record down to 20-11. As for White, they pushed their record up to 24-7 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home.

North Mesquite does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for White, they will square off against Red Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Red Oak knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully White likes a good challenge.
