Carlisle entered their tilt with Ballard on Saturday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bombers a 16-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 11 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Carlisle's win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Ballard, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Carlisle will take on rival Winterset at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 2.8, the Huskies 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Ballard is set to face off against their familiar foe A-D-M at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
