Softball Recap: North Hunterdon Takes a Loss

North Hunterdon extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 10-10 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Robbinsville Ravens. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by just one run.

As for Robbinsville, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games.

For Robbinsville's part, the team relied heavily on Lucie Canuso, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Those two runs gave Canuso a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tuleen Ali, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Looking ahead, North Hunterdon will square off against Phillipsburg at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Robbinsville, they will face off against Non Varsity Opponent at 4:50 p.m. on Monday. Robbinsville will need to watch out since Non Varsity Opponent has now posted at least ten runs in their last seven matchups.
