Basketball Recap: St. Joseph's Catholic Finds Playoff Glory Versus Chapman

It's playoff time, and St. Joseph's Catholic had no trouble coming through when it counted. They managed a 56-50 win over the Chapman Panthers on Thursday. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Despite the loss, Chapman saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Grayden Humphries posted 24 points and three steals. Hawken Smith was another key player, putting up ten points and five boards.

St. Joseph's Catholic pushed their record up to 15-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points over those games. As for Chapman, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season.

St. Joseph's Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-20 defeat against Christ Church Episcopal on the 24th. Chapman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
