Preview: Hominy Bucks vs. Yale Bulldogs
The Hominy Bucks will be home for the holidays to greet the Yale Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Hominy sitting on four straight victories and Yale on three.
Even though Hominy has not done well against Pawhuska recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Hominy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-52 win over Pawhuska. Given Hominy's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Pawhuska is ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Yale scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 68-59 win over Oilton. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Hominy pushed their record up to 4-0 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Yale, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Hominy came out on top in a nail-biter against Yale in their previous meeting back in February, sneaking past 72-69. Does Hominy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Yale turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
