Baseball Recap: Pottsville Crimson Tide vs. Panther Valley Panthers
Pottsville extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping their season record down to 6-14 in the process. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panther Valley Panthers. The Crimson Tide were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 13-4.
Pottsville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Trout, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
As for Panther Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-13. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games.
On Panther Valley's side, Danny Wehr was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 6.1 innings pitched.
