Volleyball Game Preview: Avon Eagles vs. North Rangers

The Avon Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the North Rangers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Avon's favor as the team sits on 12 straight wins at home while North has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Avon saw some tournament action on Monday. They put the hurt on Harding with a sharp 3-0 win.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Avon took every set by at least 16 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-9, 25-6.

Among those leading the charge was Madison Demmerle, who had five digs and two aces. Kara Hricovec also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Avon was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in four consecutive matchups.

North not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 13th (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against Firestone as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-16, 25-7.

North's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Avon, their victory bumped their record up to 22-1.
