Schuylkill Haven had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Minersville Miners on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Hurricanes in their matchups with the Miners: they've now won three in a row.

Allison Scherer made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off 11 hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Aisley Jenan was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. Lexi Mull was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Schuylkill Haven's victory bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Minersville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9.

As of now, neither Schuylkill Haven nor the Miners have any future games scheduled.
