Basketball Game Preview: Collinsville Cardinals vs. Booker T. Washington Hornets

Collinsville hasn't had much luck against Booker T. Washington recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Collinsville Cardinals will face off against the Booker T. Washington Hornets at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, everything came up roses for Collinsville against Nathan Hale as the squad secured a 65-32 win. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Rangers are ranked 323rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

East Central typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Booker T. Washington proved too difficult a challenge. They strolled past the Cardinals with points to spare, taking the game 76-62. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

Booker T. Washington's victory was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.9 points per game. As for Collinsville, their record now sits at 13-8.

Collinsville came up short against Booker T. Washington in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 49-40. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Booker T.
