Baseball Recap: Round Rock Christian Academy's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Round Rock Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 7-4 to the John Paul II Guardians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Crusaders of the 11-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2015.

Ryan Lieder put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Round Rock Christian Academy's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 2-1 (and 8-10 when he doesn't). Lieder was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, Miles Gittinger made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. J.G. Fair was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Round Rock Christian Academy now has a losing record of 10-11. As for John Paul II, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-14.

As of now, neither Round Rock Christian Academy nor the Guardians have any future games scheduled.
