Softball Game Preview: Del Mar Dons vs. Silver Creek Raiders

The Del Mar Dons will face off against the Silver Creek Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Del Mar and five for Silver Creek.

Del Mar came up short against Pioneer on Wednesday, falling 12-2.

Niarah Aimonetti made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double. Phatima Salto-Alvarez also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Silver Creek and Live Oak had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Raiders lost 13-1 to the Acorns on Wednesday.

Silver Creek saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madeline Collins, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Del Mar's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Silver Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.

Del Mar was able to grind out a solid win over Silver Creek when the teams last played back in April, winning 15-11. Will the Dons repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
