Basketball Recap: Bothell's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

It was a good run, but Bothell unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 64-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eastlake Wolves. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cougars came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Wolves are ranked 96th).

Despite the loss, Bothell still got an impressive performance from Charlotte Lipkin, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 12 boards. Lipkin's evening made it 11 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bailey Petrin, who went 6 for 12 on her way to 16 points.

Bothell's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5. As for Eastlake, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-13.

Bothell has already played their next contest (against Woodinville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Eastlake has already played their next matchup, a 64-60 win against Bothell/Inglemoor on the 31st.
