Baseball Game Preview: Fairless Falcons vs. Orrville Red Riders

For the second straight game, Fairless will face off against Orrville. The Falcons are taking a road trip to take on the Red Riders at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fairless will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak dating back to last season.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Fairless and Orrville, and Fairless kept the tradition alive. The Falcons came out on top against the Red Riders by a score of 6-3 on Tuesday.

Mike Ritterbeck spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jeremiah Highben, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Tyler Gaal was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Highben wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Fairless kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Fairless' victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Orrville, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.
