Baseball Recap: North Star Takes a Loss

North Star was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Blacklick Valley Vikings. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Brady Meyers led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Andrew Retassie, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

North Star's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Blacklick Valley, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Star will head out to face off against Berlin Brothersvalley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup will give the Cougars their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Blacklick Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Penns Manor at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
