Basketball Game Preview: Beardstown Tigers vs. Havana Ducks

The Beardstown Tigers will take on the Havana Ducks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Beardstown will be strutting in after a win while Havana will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Tuesday, Beardstown earned a 54-43 victory over Pittsfield.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Beardstown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Parker McCoy, who posted 15 points and six rebounds. What's more, McCoy also posted a 25% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Cleon Djafalo was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to 11 boards and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Havana came up short against Canton on Tuesday and fell 48-39. The Ducks haven't had much luck with the Little Giants recently, as the team's come up short the last nine times they've met.

Beardstown's win bumped their record up to 7-18. As for Havana, their loss dropped their record down to 6-20.

Beardstown took their victory against Havana in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 61-39. Will Beardstown repeat their success, or does Havana have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
