Softball Game Preview: Stratford Spartans vs. Whites Creek Cobras

The Stratford Spartans are taking a road trip to take on the Whites Creek Cobras at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Stratford's offense. They came up short against Antioch on Wednesday, falling 25-0. The Spartans just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Whites Creek couldn't beat Pearl-Cohn on Thursday even though they stacked 12 runs on them in the second inning. The Cobras lost 24-14 to the Firebirds. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (ten), the Cobras still had to take the loss.

India Taylor made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Taylor is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emeera Morris, who went 1-for-2 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Stratford's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Whites Creek, they dropped their record down to 3-10 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Stratford might still be hurting after the 22-4 defeat they got from Whites Creek when the teams last played last Thursday. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
