League recap: George win leads to rise in state rank

George moved up to 273 from 302 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A Region 2. The Jaguars climbed the ranks as a result of a 61-6 win over the Jaguars.

George made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,460 from 13,827. The improvement came about via a 61-6 victory over Joey Tompkins's team last week.

Ackerman's dynamic duo of Dakota Brasher and Quinton Lane proved tough for Caledonia to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Brasher threw for 211 yards and two touchdowns and Lane had 131 yards receiving. Lenny Taylor helped Ackerman's passing attack out by catching three balls for 52 yards.

Marques Reives was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 140 yards on 16 carries as East Webster beat the Confederates. Teammate Wilbur O'briant added to the ground attack by rushing for 78 yards.

Austin Mcginnis made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Wolverines topped St. Andrews Episcopal. The senior pulled down one interception.

On the ground, East Webster's Reives has rushed for 497 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Tyler Doss. The East Webster star has seven catches for 187 yards.

Next week's game between Ackerman and the Wolverines will feature a tantalizing aerial matchup as Brasher tests his arm against Mckinley Hollenhead's defensive ability. Ackerman's Brasher has thrown for 580 yards and six touchdowns this year, while Hollenhead has racked up two interceptions for East Webster.

A big matchup in 2A Region 2 this week will be when the Indians take on the Wolverines. Ackerman is in third place, while East Webster is in second place.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Indians take on the Wolverines. Ackerman has allowed 86 points this season, while East Webster has given up 47. The Indians allowed 24 points last week as they bested Caledonia.

There should be lots of points scored when Ackerman and the Wolverines face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Indians comes in having scored 115 this season, while East Webster has scored 158. Ackerman scored 44 points last week as it defeated Richard Kendrick's team.

The Indians led the league in scoring this week after putting up 44 points on the Confederates. Brasher ran for 32 yards in the win.
