Volleyball Recap: American Heritage Comes Up Short

After flying high against David Posnack Jewish Day on Monday, American Heritage came back down to earth. The Patriots lost 3-0 to the Mater Lakes Academy Bears on Tuesday.

American Heritage was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Mater Lakes Academy work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 28-26, 25-20.

Lyla Pack paced American Heritage's offense, picking up six kills. Pack got some help from Christiana Ferreira and her nine assists. Kellen Crichton controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Abbie Vazquez was the offensive standout of the contest as she had seven digs and four aces.

American Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Mater Lakes Academy, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0.

American Heritage has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Cooper City on the 15th. As for Mater Lakes Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Palmer Trinity on the 12th.
