Basketball Game Preview: Bear Lake Bears vs. Teton Timberwolves

The Bear Lake Bears will head out on the road to take on the Teton Timberwolves at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Bear Lake and Grace faced off in a Battle of the Bears on Friday. Bear Lake lost 50-29 to Grace. The Bears have struggled against the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite their defeat, Bear Lake saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jack Hulme, who posted 11 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Broxton Birch, who put up four points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Teton). Everything went their way against North Fremont on Saturday as Teton made off with a 71-45 win. The Timberwolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 22 points or more this season.

Teton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Bear Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Bear Lake took a serious blow against Teton in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 66-39. Can Bear Lake avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
