Americas and El Dorado are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2017, but likely not for long. The Americas Trail Blazers will be playing at home against the El Dorado Aztecs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Americas managed to keep up with Del Valle until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Americas came up short against Del Valle, falling 7-1. While losing is never fun, the Trail Blazers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Conquistadores are ranked 64th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask El Dorado). Their defense stepped up to hand Loretto an 11-0 shutout on Tuesday. It was an even better day for Natalie Del Valle as she scored three goals for her team.

Americas' loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those three contests. As for El Dorado, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.

Americas took their win against El Dorado when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 4-0. Will Americas repeat their success, or does El Dorado have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
