Volleyball Game Preview: Plainfield South Cougars vs. Joliet West Tigers

The Plainfield South Cougars will head out to square off against the Joliet West Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a classic North v. South duel when Plainfield South challenged Plainfield North on Thursday. The Cougars walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Tigers.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 29-27.

Meanwhile, Joliet West waltzed into their contest on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Foxes by a score of 2-0.

Joliet West easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-15.

Plainfield South has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for Joliet West, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-8.

Plainfield South came up short against Joliet West when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
