Softball Game Preview: Sylvania Rams vs. Coosa Christian Conquerors

Sylvania is a perfect 4-0 against Coosa Christian since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Rams will take on the Conquerors at 5:00 p.m. Sylvania is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

Sylvania fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Cherokee County on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 4-3.

Braelyn Hastings spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Molly Weaver made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Meanwhile, Coosa Christian fell victim to Albertville and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Aggies, falling 9-0. The Conquerors' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Coosa Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Sylvania, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-17.

Sylvania took their win against Coosa Christian when the teams last played last Monday by a conclusive 9-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
