Baseball Recap: North Comes Up Short

North came into this matchup off a tough 11-run loss last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the West Vikings by a score of 12-10 on Thursday. If the Stars were looking for revenge after losing 18-10 to the Vikings when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

DYLAN PLACENCIO made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. TYLER DUNN was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

North has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. With the victory, West broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North will host Bishop Union at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Union's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so North's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for West, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.91 runs per game on average), something West will no doubt try to take advantage of.
