Softball Recap: Erie-Prophetstown Comes Up Short

Erie-Prophetstown blew Annawan-Wethersfield out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Annawan-Wethersfield got their revenge. Erie-Prophetstown fell just short of Annawan-Wethersfield by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Panthers have suffered since April 29, 2024.

Erie-Prophetstown saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayler Pritchard, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Alyssah Padia also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Erie-Prophetstown's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Annawan-Wethersfield, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Erie-Prophetstown will take on Monmouth-Roseville at 4:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Annawan-Wethersfield, they will square off against St. Bede at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. St. Bede will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Annawan-Wethersfield surely won't give up without a fight.
