Softball Recap: Deer Park Falls Short of Pullman in the Playoffs

Deer Park and Pullman squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Deer Park had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Greyhounds by a score of 11-10. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Stags, who until this contest were averaging 3.55 runs allowed.

Lucy Lathrop made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Sammy Fausti also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Deer Park's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-3. As for Pullman, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-9 record this season.

As of now, neither Deer Park nor Pullman have any future games scheduled.
