Baseball Recap: Easthampton/Hampshire's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

Easthampton/Hampshire dropped their record down to 6-12 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 15-5 to the Pioneer Valley Regional Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since April 8th.

Jason Sigda made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last 14 games he's played.

As for Pioneer Valley Regional, the win keeps they at an undefeated 17-0. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.2 runs this season.

On Pioneer Valley Regional's side, they let Alex McClelland and Ethan Quinn run wild. McClelland went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Quinn went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Quinn has posted since back in April. Ethan Mauthe was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Easthampton/Hampshire does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pioneer Valley Regional, they will square off against Drury at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 1.9, the Blue Devils 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
