Softball Recap: Castle Rock Rockets vs. Seton Catholic Cougars
Castle Rock extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 1-17 in the process. They came up short against the Seton Catholic Cougars, falling 15-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-0 on Tuesday.
As for Seton Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-3. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won ten matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
For Seton Catholic's part, Zola Stephens spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. Stephens has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Seton Catholic got a big performance out of Brooklynn Lubisich, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. Tegan Figueroa also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
