Baseball Recap: Rio Americano Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Rio Americano's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vista del Lago Eagles on Friday. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Raiders were not able to get on the board.

Pierce Tully was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Rio Americano has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. Vista del Lago now has a winning record of 4-3.
