Baseball Recap: Hunters Lane Comes Up Short

Hunters Lane had lost eight straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 3-11 to make it nine. They lost 16-0 to the Lawson Lightning. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lightning from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

As for Lawson, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games.

For Lawson's part, Hut Hargrove made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hargrove has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI.

In other batting news, Lawson let Mario Craig and Mason Owens run wild. Craig went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Owens earned three runs and three stolen bases. Those three stolen bases gave Owens a new career-high. Henry Ruben was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Hunters Lane will square off against Hume-Fogg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lawson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
