Softball Game Preview: Cape Henry Collegiate Dolphins vs. Pallotti Panthers

The Cape Henry Collegiate Dolphins will square off against the Pallotti Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither Cape Henry Collegiate nor Pallotti posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Last Tuesday, Cape Henry Collegiate came up short against Elizabeth Seton and fell 6-1. The loss was the Dolphins' first of the season.

Sydney Larkin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Cape Henry Collegiate saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mary Burke, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Another was Kendall Isenberg, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Pallotti fell victim to Peninsula Catholic and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 10-0 to the Knights.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cape Henry Collegiate fell to 3-1. As for Pallotti, they now have a losing record of 0-1-1.
