Baseball Game Preview: Northwest Grizzlies vs. Heights Falcons

The Northwest Grizzlies will take on the Heights Falcons at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwest's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three contests, but Friday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Monday, Northwest didn't have quite enough to beat Kapaun Mt. Carmel and fell 3-2.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Heights finally came back down to earth on Friday. They fell just short of Blue Valley West by a score of 2-0. The Falcons' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Clayton Rittel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Heights is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-8-1 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Heights saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Aaron, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple.

Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9-1.
