Connor Hayes and Chase Strickland secure win for Calhoun Academy

Recap: Calhoun Academy Cavaliers vs. Clarendon Hall Saints

The Calhoun Academy Cavaliers came into Tuesday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They enjoyed a cozy 69-53 win over Clarendon Hall on Tuesday. Calhoun Academy pushed the score to 58-32 by the end of the third, a deficit the Saints cut but never quite recovered from.

Calhoun Academy was led to victory by Connor Hayes and Chase Strickland. Hayes went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 2 assists, while Strickland dropped a double-double on 25 points and 19 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Strickland has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Colt Layton, who scored four points along with 12 assists.

Calhoun Academy pushed their record up to 12-8 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Clarendon Hall, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calhoun Academy will take on the Generals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Clarendon Hall, they will head out on the road to challenge the Warriors at 7:10 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Andrew Jackson Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
