Softball Recap: Jay County Takes a Loss

Jay County suffered their closest defeat since May 25, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of the South Adams Starfires by a score of 3-1. The match marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Jay County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jozey Shimp, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Jay County's loss dropped their record down to 11-2. As for South Adams, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-2.

Coming up, Jay County will square off against Bluffton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Patriots' favor as the squad sits on ten straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Tigers have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for South Adams, they will challenge Southern Wells at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Starfires are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
