Baseball Recap: Millville Has No Trouble Against Sullivan County

Millville won the last time they faced Sullivan County and things went their way on Thursday too. The Quakers were the clear victors by a 19-1 margin over the Griffins. The result was nothing new for the Quakers, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Millville got a massive performance out of Curtis Whitmoyer, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave Whitmoyer a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evan Brokenshire, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs.

Millville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sullivan County only posted an OBP of .316.

With the victory, Millville broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-5. As for Sullivan County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Millville will venture away from home to face off against Columbia Montour Vo-Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Quakers are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Sullivan County, they have already played their next game, a 10-2 defeat against Sugar Valley Rural on the 3rd.
