Basketball Recap: South Callaway Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for South Callaway, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They secured a 69-65 W over the Tipton Cardinals on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 56-45 back in December of 2024.

Tipton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ben Bestgen, who posted 17 points. William Cashman was another key player, putting up 13 points and six rebounds.

South Callaway's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Tipton, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

South Callaway will challenge New Bloomfield at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Tipton has already played their next game (against St. Paul Lutheran), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
