The Jefferson Independent Day Cavaliers won the last time they faced the Sheldon Panthers, and things went their way on Friday too. Jefferson Independent Day walked away with a 39-31 win over Sheldon. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Jefferson Independent Day.

Sheldon's loss came despite strong showings from Wynsdae Connelly and Mariam Lamb. Connelly scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Lamb scored 14 points along with two steals. Connelly also posted two blocks for the first time this season.

Jefferson Independent Day has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Sheldon, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Jefferson Independent Day will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Northeast Vernon County at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Sheldon, they will be playing at home against Bronaugh at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Bronaugh focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 last Wednesday.
