Soccer Recap: Imlay City Comes Up Short

After flying high against Almont on Wednesday, Imlay City came back down to earth. The Spartans fell just short of the Lapeer Lightning by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Imlay City of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Imlay City's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7-2. As for Lapeer, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10-1.

Imlay City has already played their next contest, an 8-0 win against Algonac on the 6th. As for Lapeer, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Davison on the 2nd.
