Preview: Klahowya Eagles vs. Annie Wright Gators
Klahowya is 0-5 against Annie Wright since December of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Klahowya Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Annie Wright Gators at 7:00 p.m. Klahowya will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while Annie Wright is ranked 51st).
Last Friday, Klahowya was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-49 to Bellevue Christian.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Eli Kraft, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Carson Langguth was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Annie Wright entered their tilt with Seattle Christian with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Annie Wright took their contest at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 90-56 victory over Seattle Christian. Annie Wright has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 23 points or more this season.
Klahowya's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Annie Wright, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.
Klahowya was taken down by Annie Wright 90-32 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Klahowya avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
