The Forsyth Home Educators Hawks will head out to take on the Glenn Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Tuesday, Forsyth Home Educators got the win against Ambassador Christian School by a conclusive 16-1.
Rebecca Cheek made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Madelyn Evans was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Emma Groce, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Forsyth Home Educators always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .833. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Glenn came out on top against Mount Tabor on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Bobcats blew past the Spartans 14-1. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Like Forsyth Home Educators, Glenn also got a great game from a two-way player: Addyson Irving. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Irving was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooklyn Hardin, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryleigh Stewart, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Forsyth Home Educators' record is now 11-6. As for Glenn, their record now sits at 11-9.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Forsyth Home Educators hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341. However, it's not like Glenn struggles in that department as they've averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
