Baseball Recap: Psalms Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against ARC Academy

On Tuesday, the Psalms Christian Academy Ambassadors got the win against the ARC Academy Warriors by a conclusive 18-2. The result was nothing new for the Ambassadors, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Wesley O'Con made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit (and only one walk). With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Psalms Christian Academy let Tristen Vanhook and Jonah Procell run wild. Vanhook scored three runs and stole Six bases. while going 2-for-5, while Procell scored three runs and stole Five bases. while getting on base in four of his eight plate appearances. Those six stolen bases gave Vanhook a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jonah Costner, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2.

Psalms Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Psalms Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for ARC Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Psalms Christian Academy is taking a road trip to take on Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Alexandria Homeschool Arts & Athletics is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season. As for ARC Academy, they will host John Paul the Great Academy on March 28th.
