Baseball Recap: Irvin Takes a Loss

Irvin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bowie Bears. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bears this season, with their most recent loss being a 6-4 defeat on Tuesday.

Eli Rivera and Amani Ruiz did some serious damage despite the final result: Rivera went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Ruiz went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Joseph Davila was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Irvin's loss dropped their record down to 4-22-1. As for Bowie, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-16.

As of now, neither Irvin nor the Bears have any future games scheduled.
