Basketball Preview: Johnson City Eagles vs. Santa Anna Mountaineers
For the second straight game, Johnson City will face off against Santa Anna. The Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the Mountaineers at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Johnson City has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Johnson City headed into their last matchup having not scored more than 30 points for three straight, but Santa Anna let them put that streak behind them. The Eagles claimed a resounding 74-22 victory over the Mountaineers. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Johnson City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jackson Walker, who shot 67% from the field to rack up 22 points and six rebounds. What's more, Walker posted two assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Corpus, who went 6-for-11 on his way to 14 points along with six assists and five boards.
Johnson City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive games.
Santa Anna's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Johnson City, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
