Football Recap: Stevenson Spartans vs. Catholic Central Shamrocks

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Stevenson can now relate to. They were beaten by the Catholic Central Shamrocks 33-0 on Friday. The Spartans were red-hot offensively headed into the game (they scored no less than 31 points in the three matches prior) but the Shamrocks' defense proved too tough.

Jaden Pydyn was his usual excellent self, rushing for 87 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, while also picking up 31 receiving yards for Catholic Central. Pydyn has been hot , having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last five times he's played. Samson Gash got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Stevenson's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Catholic Central, the victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Stevenson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Catholic Central has already played their next contest, a 41-7 win against West Bloomfield on the 8th.
