Football Recap: Superior Extends Winning Streak to Three

Superior had won two straight games and Turner Milender did his part to make it three on Friday. The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 60-36 margin over the St. Ignatius Bulldogs for which the team can thank Milender, who rushed for 119 yards and four scores. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 102.2 rushing yards per game.

Another player making a difference was Phineas Cataldo, who picked up 51 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. He didn't just play on offense: he also made five total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended one pass.

Superior didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Milender. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.

Superior's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for St. Ignatius, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Superior has already played their next game (against Darby), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for St. Ignatius, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Victor at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
