Basketball Recap: BASIS - Prescott Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Raj Tung and Abner Chang

BASIS - Prescott was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 59-36 to BASIS - Mesa. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Coyote this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-15 back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, BASIS - Prescott had strong showings from Abner Chang, who went 5 of 7 en route to 14 points, and Raj Tung, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 12 points and three steals. Tung is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Puster, who posted two points and 11 boards.

Even though they lost, BASIS - Prescott was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

BASIS - Prescott's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for BASIS - Mesa, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-5 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. BASIS - Prescott will face off against Trinity Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for BASIS - Mesa, they will venture away from home to challenge Phoenix School of Academic Excellence at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
