Basketball Preview: Williamstown Blue Devils vs. Richford Falcons
Williamstown has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Richford Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Williamstown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Williamstown faced the Falcons in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Williamstown took a 57-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons.
Williamstown's loss came about despite a quality game from Evan Bailey, who scored 21 points along with four steals. That was a full 41.2% of Williamstown's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Colby Laggner was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 11 rebounds.
Williamstown's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Richford, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 15-2.
Williamstown came up short against the Falcons in their previous matchup on Saturday, falling 57-51. Can Williamstown avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
