Preview: Jordan-Matthews Jets vs. Western Harnett Eagles
Having just played yesterday, the Jordan-Matthews Jets will jump right back in to play the Western Harnett Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Wednesday, Jordan-Matthews was beaten by Triton 71-34.
The match pitted two dominant players against one another in Lia Carter and Nashara McNeil-Watlington. McNeil-Watlington had a great game and scored 33 points. Meanwhile, Carter was balling out in the loss, scoring 16 points.
Meanwhile, Western Harnett's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 34-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hoke County.
Jordan-Matthews' defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Western Harnett, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Jordan-Matthews was able to grind out a solid victory over Western Harnett when the teams last played back in January of 2020, winning 50-38. Will Jordan-Matthews repeat their success, or does Western Harnett have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
